Being able to go back in time 15 minutes is a provocative idea—just imagine all the “do overs!” I love a good laugh, but as I read the antics of 7th grader Casey they only got a few chuckles out of me because the humor was too contrived. Nevertheless, the once nerdy Casey uses the watch to good advantage—he gets the girl, passes tests, makes great football plays, and doesn’t have to serve detentions for any more tardies! Rather than forever warping his character, Casey learns from his experiences that his decisions have the power to alter others lives and that it feels better to be responsible for his accomplishments, as well as failures, rather than gain through “cheating.” Middle school boys might really enjoy this book.… (meer)
