Seasonal Books
I have books that I read around Christmastime. Some I read every year as a tradition, and some I get out every year, but haven't got round to reading/finishing yet. I wondered what other people like to read at the annual festivals, religious or secular, which mark out the year. What books do people read annually at a particular point in the year? What books do they associate with a particular point in the yea? Do some people have a book which for them perfectly captures a particular time of year, perhaps in a particular location?
So that's what this site is for. For people to pass on or simply record books which relate to a particular point in the year or to a particular season. If the title makes the book's season or point in the year obvious (e.g. 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas') there is no need to elaborate. If it doesn't, it would be helpful if you started your post with the date /festival/season, then give the name and author of the book, story, or poem, and some indication of why it is relevant to that particular time. That book/story/poem which captures summer for you, which has nailed college football in the fall. Feel free to list or to hold forth at length.
People have started lots of threads within this group some of which are general (winter, summer, etc) but some of which are very specific. For extra books do check across with the more general conversational thread 'seasonal/locational' as people often enter books for various categories there
