The books listed herein are those which I have read time and again, books I have just begun to explore, and above all books which have inspired me to keep on writing and creating new worlds.

I am an all around fantasy nerd, first and foremost. I am a teacher, a writer of poetry, fantasy fiction, literary criticism, a feminist, an amateur photographer, a collector of books...I have been writing since I was around six years old, when I wrote my first collection of short stories which was sadly left out in the rain and defaced by an unscrupulous peer. This of course did not stop me. I wrote two novels between the ages of 12 and 14, both of which shall never leave the shadows of the drawer beneath my bed, and then at 17 completed The Forsaken Ones, which after much deliberation, I decided to self-publish. If anyone here was ever a writer or lurker on figment.com, I was there too.

At university in Aberystwyth I completed my BA in English and Creative Writing, passing with a first and the Margaret Davies Prize for best woman's writing in the department - an award for which I have mixed feelings - before going on to study Literature at MA at Queen's University Belfast.

When I am not being mercilessly overworked as a trainee teacher, I am running the haphazard author's blog, and roam the coastline armed with a camera-phone and a notebook.
