Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives
Over mijn bibliotheek
The Archives holds 7500+ books and over 2100+ periodical titles, with a focus on LGBT-related material published in Australia or by Australian authors. Non-Australian historiographical books are also collected as well as pre-1980 LGBT-related books, particularly those that were distributed or circulated in Australia.

The Archives also holds small number of formed book collections, including the Ardy Tibby Collection (lesbian fiction), David McDiarmid Collection, Adam Carr Collection, the Colin Simson Collection and Ken Hocking Collection (gay male erotica, S/M and leather), and the Barry Lowe Collection (gay male fiction, erotica, cartoons and biographies). In addition, the Archives also holds a small collection of rare books, incorporating rare items, association copies and artists' books.

In addition to library material, the Archives also holds archival, museum and gallery material in all formats.
Over mij
The Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives (ALGA) is a non-profit, community-based incorporated association committed to the collection and preservation of material reflecting the lives and experiences of LGBT Australians. The Archives was established as an initiative of the 4th National Homosexual Conference, Sydney, August 1978, drawing on the previous work of founding President Graham Carbery. Since its establishment the collection has grown to over 150,000 items (400+ shelf metres), constituting the largest and most significant collection of material relating to LGBT Australians and the largest collection of LGBT material in Australia, and the most prominent research centre for gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans* history in Australia.
