Over mijn bibliotheek
The most distinctive books in my library, of course, reflect these interests among a few others. These include scarce items and even rarities. I'm nearly finished with the easy part of putting them in LibraryThing: transcribing what is already cataloged, either the old-fashioned way (on cards) or in a computer database system that I wrote myself (back in the late '80s when I was smarter than I am now). Now for the uncataloged books lurking in boxes or dusty piles...

In an ideal world (short of heaven, where of course they use the New Bliss classification :-) I classify and shelve my books in Dewey Decimal order. You should find it most helpful to sort and browse my listings by the Dewey Decimal column. It's often the only way I can ever find them!

I'm a music librarian (newly retired), church musician, Anglo-Catholic, and amateur computer programmer. I participate on the Ship of Fools as Alogon.

Like writers such as Morris Berman and Garrison Keillor, I've come to believe that nowadays the real liberals are often conservatives and vice versa. This is what makes one of my more recent haunts, the American Conservative site, so fascinating. It is a collective effort to determine what a humane conservatism means in America today, and to articulate a relevant political alternative to the ideas now regnant among neo-conservatives and Republican power-brokers. Nothing smacking of mere bigotry or jingoism goes unchallenged.
