Over mijn bibliotheek
Well, working at a small town public library has its advantages. Namely, getting dibs on donations that cannot be circulated to the patrons because of age, condition, or duplicity. Thus my library truly began when I was 16 with the donation of some 300 pocket-size books ranging in publication date from 1920-1931 otherwise known as the reprint series of Everyman's Library. Okay, so naturally I was the nerdy kid reading in the corner in my early school days (still am in fact) and of course my parents bought me books as gifts (or I used money received as gifts to buy more books). Nevertheless, much of my library consists of "rescues." I've read most of these titles already because they are classics, but I cannot deny how aesthetically pleasing a collection looks on a shelf when every book is the same height and binding. So, I've included (or will be including) those collections along with books that stand alone even if they are the same title.

Other than that, You will find sometimes strange titles and subjects. Cures and Curiosities, The History of the Pencil, Quirkology, Tall Blondes, Boozehound... You get the picture. And I like books that challenge what and how I think. Also pop-up and picture books. Especially pop-ups.
