Over mijn bibliotheek: I am a knowledge junkie, which makes me a voracious reader. I’m intrigued by the way the world, including the people living in it, functions, and I read about 10 non-fiction books for every one fiction book read.

Most of the fiction I donate to the local library after I've read it.

The library is my second home. I also haunt bookstores, new and used, and my biggest delight is finding a new author.

I'm Cassandra Barnes, a novelist.

I’ve been writing for years, and I currently three novels published, and several others started.

My first published novel was Jenny's Legacy, a contemporary sweet romance featuring a psychic heroine. It was released in hardcover in 2006. ISBN: 978-1594144332.

It was re-released in 2008 as an e-book, ISBN: 978-1-59431-622-7; and is now also available as a Kindle download. ASIN: B001CQCA3.

The second book, Acts of Love, is a contemporary sweet romance/cozy mystery/women's fiction story. It was published in 2008 as an e-book, ISBN: 978-1-59431-639-5. It's also now available as a Kindle download, ASIN: B001M1ILKM.

A Perfect Body is my latest release. It became available as an e-book in May 2009. ISBN: 978-1-59431-758-3. It may also be purchased as a Kindle download, ASIN: B002BKDPHC.

I write with a collection of angels, butterflies, and dolphins arrayed around my computer. One of my most prized possessions is a tiny silk rose in a hand-carved wood vase that is more than 60 years old. I’ve chosen to use a red rose as my motif.

I listen mostly to classical and New Age music, spiced up now and then with a little jazz or Broadway show tunes.

My writing is usually done in the early morning hours. It’s cold and dark at 5:00 a.m., so I don’t make it every day, but I try. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm eating chocolate or downing caffeine.

I love animals, flowers, food, and learning something new. I'm a vegetarian, and I make my meals from scratch on those days I tear myself away from the computer.
