Over mijn bibliotheek

Golden age crime, general fiction and some fantasy. A bit of popular science. Some politics and social issues. A hefty pile of romance and chick lit. Some serious literature that I will probably never actually read.

A lot of old history and religion books. I have BA and MTh degrees in history so old they're practically part of history themselves, but I'm keeping my old history books. I'm torn between weeding the religion ones out because they're not relevant to me now (especially where the actual book is long gone) and keeping them because they were relevant and made me who I am today. They're staying for now.

Anything to do with property, construction, law or tax is related to the day job.

The majority of my books are still the old-fashioned kind, made out of bits of dead tree, and ink, and glue - but new acquisitions and actual reading are as likely to be Kindle as paper books, and I generally read equal numbers of each. (I'm trying to get back to reading more paper books and less ebooks, but it doesn't seem to be working.)

I have separate collections for paper books and ebooks, mostly because it's the the only way I'll avoid wasting hours hunting through the shelves for something that only exists on the kindle. There's an audiobook collection too, but I very rarely listen to audiobooks. (And I never look at the media field on books - it's safe to assume that's wrong and the collection is right.)

Once upon a time, when dinosaurs roamed the earth (okay, some time around 2014), my tags and collections were beautifully organised. Now? Yeah, not so much.

Over mij

Cooking, knitting, books, gaming. Weakness for books (obviously), yarn and chocolate biscuits.
