Over mijn bibliotheek
My favorite books are history and historical fiction, but I like a good, well-written SF book occasionally, as well as Grisham. Steven King not so much.

My favorite authors include JRR Tolkien, James Michener, Herman Melville, Arthur C. Clarke. I like the CS Forester books (Hornblower), and the similar Douglas Reeman works, and Patrick O'Brien.

Recently I read "Dead Wake" by Erik Larson and really enjoyed that. Right now I'm plowing through "Team of Rivals," and it's pretty dense, though I enjoyed "John Adams" by David McCullough.

My great uncle was Lawrence Schoonover, and his books are mostly good as well, though out of print for decades. I read "Where the Crawdads Sing" and it left me rather flat.
