Die HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA School of Governance beherbergt in Berlin-Mitte die in Deutschland einzige interdisziplinäre Fachbibliothek zu den Themen Zivilgesellschaft, Philanthropie und Nonprofit-Sektor. Die hier zu findende/gesammelte Literatur steht der Öffentlichkeit als Freihandaufstellung unentgeltlich zur Verfügung.

Der Bestand der Fachbibliothek umfasst derzeit rund 14.000 Fachbücher, Zeitschriften, Jahresberichte von Stiftungen, unpublizierte Abschlussarbeiten (Diplom, Magister), Materialiensammlungen, relevante Internetdokumente und Tagungsunterlagen. Die vorhandene Literatur ist komplett bibliographisch erfasst und kann in der Online-Datenbank OPAC des GBV (Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund) recherchiert werden. Die Suche nach Sachgesichtspunkten wird durch eine systematische Freihandaufstellung unterstützt.

A Unique Interdisciplinary Library focused on literature about Civil Society, Philanthropy and the Nonprofit Sector

The HUMBOLDT-VIADRINA School of Governance situated in Berlin-Mitte is home to the only interdisciplinary library in Germany focused on the subject of civil society, philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, whose contents are open to the public. Visiting and using the library is free of charge. The stock currently includes about 14,000 books, as well as magazines, annual reports of various foundations, unpublished degree dissertations, informative literature and also relevant internet and conference documents. The collection is all bibliographically documented and can be looked up in an Online Public Access Catalogue. The library is systematically divided into subject matter in an open access area.
