Over mij

I'm an artist, a writer, and I live in an old farmhouse on top of a windswept hill in Upstate New York with my Fred, our son, five cats, and sadly, our one dog named Max passed away on December 16, 2013. I adopted a wee mini-donkey named Elizabeth and two wee pygmy goats (who are her "family") Pebbles and Tessa...I must say, that wee donkey is the sweetest little creature, and a spot of sunshine in my life. Any equine critter is a lot of work, but the work makes having her worth it.

I am an independently published author with two literary fiction novels, "Dusty Waters, A Ghost Story" (Field Stone Press, 2009), which is a ghost story about life and "The Fractured Hues of White Light" (Field Stone Press, 2010), which is about an autistic artist, both are available in paperback, NOOK and Kindle. I am currently working on the final touches to my third novel "Drinking From the Fishbowl", which is a book about dreams and realities.

I am also an artist, painting and drawing abstractions of color, shapes and textures. I have been actively participating in the Sketchbook Project through the Brooklyn Art Library.

I am also re-examining my love for photography creating a digital sketchbook from my acre of the world.

I work full-time at Syracuse University where I am the Registrar of the university art collection.

(Okay, so what don't I do, right?)

I read A LOT...mostly classics and contemporary literary fiction, and I'm a sucker for a good comic book from the Marvel Universe...tho' I do like Batman from DC.

I've pretty much given up on television (except for PBS) as my favorite shows tend to get canceled (I'm a fan of Twin Peaks and Firefly.)

In 2007, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which can be a royal pain...uh huh...but I believe that having a creative mind is what helps me cope with this miserable illness that has the potential to be debilitating. The way I see it, it's not going to kill me, so I keep going forward.
