Over mijn bibliotheek

The library collection of the Dutch National Archives (Nationaal Archief) consists primarily of publications about historical themes that feature in the archive collection of the Nationaal Archief. They relate to the history of the Netherlands with particular emphasis on (Zuid-)Holland, the former Dutch colonies and the national institutions. The library also has an extensive collection of works on archival science, the restoration and conservation of documents, and contains publications on genealogy and cartography.

Het zwaartepunt van de bibliotheekcollectie ligt op geschiedkundige publicaties die qua onderwerp aansluiten bij de archiefcollectie van het Nationaal Archief. Hierbij gaat het om publicaties over de geschiedenis van Nederland, met speciale aandacht voor (Zuid-)Holland, de toenmalige koloniën en institutionele geschiedenis. Daarnaast is er een uitgebreide collectie archiefwetenschap en documentconservering en -restauratie, alsmede publicaties over genealogie en cartografie. De bibliotheekcollectie bevat bovendien ca. 2300 oude drukken (gedrukt tot 1801).

Vanaf 15 oktober 2009 worden maandelijks de aanwinsten (vanaf april 2009) toegevoegd.

Over mij

De Nationaal Archief bibliotheek (NAlibrary) ondersteunt met een op de archiefcollectie gerichte collectie bezoekers en medewerkers van het Nationaal Archief bij hun archiefonderzoek. Goed archiefonderzoek begint immers met literatuuronderzoek. De bibliotheekcolletie bestaat sinds 1856 en omvat ruim 41.000 titels uit de zestiende tot en met de eenentwintigste eeuw.
