A hodge podge collection of children's books that I have purchased, dug out of recycle bins, or that have been given to me. If there's is a lonely book laying around I find a home for it. Many of my books get sent home with students and never return, but as Pete the Cat would say. "Books come and books go. Do I cry? Goodness, no! I just keep on singing my song—after all, what could be groovier than groovy kids reading groovy books!!!

I teach 2nd grade at William Walker Elementary school in Beaverton, OR. We are a Title 1 school with 80% of students getting free or reduced lunch. In addition, 75% of my students' first language is not English. Often times these students struggle with learning as they have many other things on their plate...is dad/mom/sister/brother going to be deported, will there be anything to eat, do I have any clean clothes, they watch younger siblings after school (and they are only 2nd graders!), I could go on and on. However, they are the sweetest, kindest and most generous children on earth and I love being their teacher!
