Over mijn bibliotheek
The books in this library were sent to a school called Hodzo Aviepe on July 23, 2013. The school is located 9 km outside of Ho, in the eastern region of Ghana. It is a primary and junior high school combined, so the ages range from 6-15. The school has about 200 students and when they reached out to us, they had no books, though they had a room designated for a library.
These books arrived in Ghana and were brought to the village for a ceremony, which was attended by the local chief, on October 5. We hear that they parents of the students, as well as other adults in the village, are very thankful for the donation. These books were presented to the school at a ceremony in late October, 2013.
Over mij
Books Matter sends books to Ghana schools, where books are very scarce, in order to improve literacy. We collect books from Toronto area schools and individuals and raise money on our website to pay for the shipping. Many LT members have made donations on our website, and we are very appreciative of your desire to help spread books to Ghana.
