A lot (read: all) of what I am reading at the moment is related to my thesis, where I'm looking at some of Rider Haggard's Quatermain novels and asking important questions like: what makes a man, a man? Is it brain or brawn or the month you were born - wait, no, that's The Who. Um, where I'm looking at Haggard's concept of the imperial gentleman. I find it helpful to ask questions like whether a man is more manly if he has ample facial hair.

I like things written by people with pseudo-conservative views, preferably from about the 1890s to around 1950. Like literature of empire and titties.
