Over mijn bibliotheek
I haven't updated this library in several years and I've moved around and endured (and enjoyed, in equal measures) almost four years of graduate education since its creation.

I'm particularly interested in antebellum literature and culture, spatial and utopian studies, American modernism and postmodernism, theology and religious cultural studies and last (but perhaps foremost) a dizzying array of literary and cultural theory with a marked tendency toward the Continental.
Over mij
These days I seem to be a writer, frenetic reader, explorer, outdoorswoman, overthinker, solo singer/guitarist (unaffilated with any band for almost 5 years now), aspiring seamstress, worshipper of the universal essence, doctoral student in 19th and 20th century American literature and cultural studies.

Favorite People: Klaus Kinski and Brian Wilson. Also, my significant other and parents, Robert Lowell, Fernando Pessoa, Henri Lefebvre, Mina Loy, Eugene Debs, Malcolm X, Anne Sexton, Mary Oliver, Flannery O'Connor, Nina Simone, Thomas Pynchon, Fatima Mernissi, John Dos Passos, Vladimir Nabokov, James Baldwin, Ralph Ellison, Don Barthelme, Richard Brautigan and John Waters.

Favorite Places: Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Japan, central California (especially along the 101), my hometown and surrounding area (Denver/Boulder, CO), my "almost" hometown, NYC; and adopted hometown, New Orleans; Appalachia, and, well, of course, the south of France.

Favorite Things: Oolong teas from the Texas Tea Embassy (900 Rio Grande St, ATX) esp. Phoenix Honey and Blue Spring, shorts, rope sandals (vegan AND they float!).

Other Interests: Listening to Black Box Recorder, Talking Heads, Dr. Dog, Prince, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, Jill Scott...and David Lee Roth.

Hobbies: Paddle sports (kayaking (sea and still),rafting, canoeing, just plain drifting), reading poetry, sewing, knitting, crocheting, travelling the world, trying to meditate somewhat regularly, practicing yoga, mastering vegan and vegetarian cuisine, playing guitar, learning banjo and flute, bitching about the news.
