Not very far on the 1001 Books List. Sometimes you get stuck on a great author; sometimes you get put off by the description in the book. Some I have made my way through, with joy, trepidation, determination or for the grade:

A Christmas Carol; A Farewell to Arms; A Prayer for Owen Meany; All Quiet on the Western Front; Anna Karenina; Around the World in Eighty Days.
Babbitt; Brave New World; Brideshead Revisited.
Camilla; Cannery Row; Cecelia; Clarissa; Confederacy of Dunces.
David Copperfield; Delta of Venus; Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Emma and Evalina.
For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Gone With the Wind.
Interview with the Vampire.
Jane Eyre.
Lady Chatterley's Lover; Like Water for Chocolate; Little Women; Look Homeward Angel; Love in the Time of Cholera.
Mansfield Park; Memoirs of a Geisha; Moll Flanders.
Nineteen Eighty Four; Northanger Abbey.
One Hundred Years of Solitude; Orlando;
Pamela; Persuasion; Possession; Pride and Prejudice.
Ragtime; Rebecca.
Sense and Sensibility; Smilla's Sense of Snow.
Tender is the Night; Thank You Jeeves.
The Castle of Otranto; The Cider House Rules; The Color Purple; The English Patient; The Godfather; The Grapes of Wrath; The Great Gatsby; The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy; The Hobbit; The Hound of the Baskervilles; The Hours; The House of the Spirits; The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul; The Lord of the Rings; The Old Man and the Sea; The Once and Future King; The Picture of Dorian Gray; The Razor's Edge; The Shipping News; The Sun Also Rises; The Virgin in the Garden; The World According to Garp.

Over mij
I have been reading since I was 4 and consider the gift of reading the greatest thing I have ever been given by my mother. Co-wrote the Images of America book "Trenton." Revolutionary War reenactor. Knitting and reading addict. Cannot go to sleep at night without reading. Cannot go anywhere without something to knit and a book to read.
