- Over mij
- I'm the author of three books of poetry, Plums & Ashes (Northeastern University, 1994), which won the Samuel French Morse Poetry Prize, Especially Then (David Robert Books, 2005), and Primitive Mood (Truman State University, 2009), which recently won the T.S. Eliot Prize from Truman State University Press, and is available for pre-order, with publication in September of 2009.
Poems of mine have appeared in Poetry, The Georgia Review, The Kenyon Review, The Southwest Review, and Epoch, among other journals and reviews.
My work has been widely anthologized and I'd also mention as honors a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship and a Pushcart Prize.
Personal details? I was born in Boston, grew up in nearby Newton, moved to Philly to attend Med School, and when I wasn't drop dead tired, writing seminars on the other side of campus. Somehow I never left. Instead, I acquired a family, and continue on here (along with several cats) pursuing the dual practices of poetry and medicine. - Woonplaats
