Over mijn bibliotheek
I'm an eclectic reader, though if stuck on a deserted island with only a few books to read I would probably reach for literary fiction with a speculative bent. I read in the borderlands of genres.

Recent favorite fiction authors include David Mitchell, Haruki Murakami, Peter Heller, Julian Barnes, Ian McEwan, Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Neal Stephenson, Paul Theroux, Eleanor Catton, and Laini Taylor. I enjoy the literary classics, too (love my Borges, Woolf, Austen, etc.), but recent works are always more fun to talk about and debate. Of course, my list of faves continues to shift and shimmy.
