Over mijn bibliotheek
One of the most traumatic things about moving was leaving behind hundreds and hundreds of books, accumulated with such great pleasure over the years, in our attic in Cambridge. The catalog of my current library does not include any of these and LT has made me acutely aware of the gaps. Do I purchase duplicates? Do I get our lodger to ship them? Where would I put them?

The result of this is a library that is weighted towards history (naturally) and genre fiction. When I'm not reading through the former for classes or my thesis or pleasure, I have so little time or energy for reading weighty classics. Lazy, I know, but there are always the vacations...
Over mij
I am a Brit ex-pat living in sunny, downtown Burbank, CA. My husband and I have been here since 2000, leaving behind cold, foggy Cambridge for sunshine, his job in the movie industry and my enforced unemployment (thanks, immigration service!) To forestall boredom, I have become a student again. I received my BA in History in 2005 and am now working on a MA in History (Medieval Europe and the Middle East). My particular interest in 12th century English intellectual and political history, especially the chroniclers Giraldus Cambrensis and Walter Map.
