Over mijn bibliotheek
I sadly only have about a quarter of my books here in my apartment with me; the rest are sitting in my bookshelves at my parents' house. Hopefully that'll change soon :)

The shelves in my library are mostly organized by subject: Favorite books, Fantasy and Fairy Tales, Other Fiction, Non-Fiction/Research, and Writing. They tend to change when I buy more books (a regular occurance) and find that I have no more room on my Favorite shelf for a new Umberto Eco.

I have a good number of very old books in my library right now; I collect them.
Over mij
Hello. I'm Ally. I am a 23-year-old event planner living in Boston with my best friend Liz and our cat His Excellency Sir Gwendal von Walde. I am an avid reader and writer, and my dearest wish is to write a novel and live comfortably off the returns for the rest of my days. Fame would be nice, too :) I placed in the quarter finals of the Writers of the Future Contest, won second place in a local newspaper fiction contest, and had a short story published in the White Wolf eQuarterly. That's about it for my claims to authorship :)

I read compulsively ever since I was a child, something that I'm sure my father instilled in me. My friends and family say that I'll read anything that's sitting around, regardless of the subject matter (that's the reason why I'm the only one that knows how to program the family dishwasher). It's what gave me my wealth of random trivia knowledge, among other things.

I buy books randomly, usually picking up a book because it strikes me at the moment; I've found some of my favorite books that way. I'm also a big believer in not judging a book by its cover.

My (current) favorite authors include J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Umberto Eco, and Isaac Asimov. I have a love affair with the short story "The Dandelion Girl" by Robert F. Young. In my bag right now is a copy of "The Island of the Day Before" by Umberto Eco and "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy" by S.D. Perry. My favorite book is "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R. Tolkien; I quote it to the chagrin of my friends.
