Over mij
I grew up in a multicultural family in rural Arctic Alaska and on a fishing boat in Southeast Alaska. Though now I live in a city, I return every year to NW Alaska to visit family, watch birds and do "subsistence" things (mainly fishing and picking berries and edible plants).

"Flight of the Goose" is my first novel, and I have published poetry, short stories and nonfiction. My writing remains influenced by the wilderness and deep exposure to traditional Indigenous ways. My academic training includes arctic ecology, world literature, anthropology and Far Eastern Studies.

Currently I am at work on "The Otter's Ransom", speculative fiction with themes of social and ecological collapse and adaptation.

Seattle and Nome Alaska
