I am a generalist, a hodge-podge of an incredible number of life-experiences … I’ve been married for 25 years, have three children (mostly grown) and two dogs (also mostly grown). I homeschooled all three kids; one is in college now, and another recently received his B.A. While staying home with them, I wrote for a number of magazines, had a book published, and immersed myself in my community. For four years, I worked as co-director of an urban outreach ministry, an experience I’m not sure I’ll ever top. A move landed me in a library working as a reference sub, where I fell in love with library work. I pursued and completed my MLIS, and am now working as Librarian/Nonprofit Collections Specialist for Appomattox Regional Library System/Southside Community Partners. I love being back in my home state, catching up with old friends and making new ones, and slowing down a bit. I like to read (mostly non-fiction and girlfriend fiction), cook (all things Deeply Southern), and take long walks with my 70s-80s music on my purple iPod in my ears. And I watch entirely too much television. But I don’t feel bad about it.
