Over mijn bibliotheek
This is a record of the books I have read over the years. I started keeping a record in 2010 but I add in books I read before then as and when I remember them. I enjoy being able to track my reading habits and look back at the books I have read and what I thought of them. I've read some of the books with the book club I started with a friend back in 2010. I still own most of the books in my library as there is something about seeing all my books on my shelves that I love - even though I know I should really pass them on to someone else to enjoy. Many of the books in my library have been passed on from my mother who I got my love of reading from. I love sharing the experience of reading a book with her. My challenge for 2012 is to not buy any new books but instead to read the books I already own but haven't yet read. (I am allowed to buy book club books though!)

Things I love: the private experience of being totally absorbed in a book; the shared experience of talking about it afterwards; browsing through bookshops, libraries, amazon books, the folio society catalogue etc; the mixture of delight and loss on finishing an amazing book; the pleasure of looking at my shelves and deciding what to read next; browsing through my shelves or LibraryThing catalogue and remembering all the great books I have read.
