- Over mijn bibliotheek
- My library contains books that I have a special interest towards. In other words, I don't try to buy something of everything.
I have lots of childrens books (most not yet catalogued)but I also like 19th and early 20th century fiction, Catholic theology and spirituality books, Agatha Christie mysteries, some classic science fiction such as John Wyndham, Orwell and H.G. Wells.
I tend to go through periods where I read alot of a certain type of book and therefore will collect books of that genre.
I hope you enjoy looking through my library. - Over mij
- Greetings to all the booklovers on this site. As my username states, I'm a librarian and am thrilled to be a part of this social network.
As you will see from my catalogue, my favourite books are Catholic fiction and spirituality, Victorian fiction and early 20th century fiction, mysteries and some science fiction. I am especially interested in fiction which deals about the condition of women in society during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
I have many favourite books but those at the top of the list include
1. Fire and Sword, The Deluge and Pan Michael by Henryk Sienkiewicz;
2. Kristin Lavransdatter and The Master of Hestviken by Sigrid Undset;
3. The Silmarillion and the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien;
4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen;
5. The Joyful Beggar by Louis de Wohl (any novels by de Wohl)
6. Father Elijah by Michael O'Brien
