Over mijn bibliotheek
I've recently moved here and had to go through the agony of reducing the number of books I could bring with me, from a large home to a smallish condo. My favorites that survived are my James Lee Burke mysteries (no one does the Louisiana Gulflands better), a slew of other mysteries, southern novels, cookbooks, a reference collection, some history, some travel (Pacific NW, southern appalachians, Florida) as well as current political tomes. A mixed bag.
Over mij
Retired widow, former journalist, I never go anywhere without a book. My son and his family live with me -- grandboy is 11 and has the book bug too -- in a delightful university town in the northwest. My volunteer efforts are with the local Friends of the Library -- the city has a terrific new library facility -- and I have the weekly pleasure of working in the Friends used book store. It's a "loose in a candy store treat" for me. Additionally, we love the outdoors here; both ocean and mountains are only about an hour away, and the city is full of forested beauty spots. Great places to walk, then sit, sip a latte, and read a good book.
