From today's The Age, an article/list of 10 second hand bookshops in Melbourne.

Edit: Damn! I wish I'd known that Asimov's Annotated Gilbert and Sullivan was at Sybers'.

The moral of the article? bookshops on tram routes last.

Problem with McClouds is the place is complete chaos, no order to books just shoved into shelves or the piles on the floor
and the staff are more interested in placing bets on dog racing.

not a bad thing if you have the time to rummage, but terrible if you want to make a quick stop before catching the train.

#3, Lamont,

Yes, McClouds is a mess, BUT, Theresa seems to be able to point me to "my interests" very well, down to an individual book.

I do talk to the casual staff and have not yet noted a "Punter".

My only complaint is that a "Bog Standard Book" is about $10. Hey, I could just be becoming an "old fart".
