I received one too. My first reaction was to wish it had been a Kindle because the Nook Color weighs almost twice as much and has battery life of only a few hours. I don't think the color or video capabilities will mean much to me. I haven't read anything with it yet except the user guide.
There was one problem setting it up. It connected to my WiFi network, but the setup screen froze at that point. I finally resolved this by disabling security on my router, running the setup, then turning security back on.

I don't think the battery will be an issue for me since I don't plan it have it in wireless format when I am reading - only when I am buying/downloading. It is the wireless mode that sucks the charge out which is why I have to charge my phone - synched to my car - in my car every time I do a road trip.
I haven't charged my battery since the first charge and I still have half a charge to go.

It's completely out of consideration for me since the whole reason I'm interested in eBook readers is because of e-ink displays to minimize eye strain. Since it has an LCD screen, I feel like I might as well just get a Notebook computer than a Nook color, and have a much more useful and powerful tool.
