As I have been entering our 7,000+ book collection on LT I have been watching the obscurity stats and noticing how the books we like are not commonly cataloged on LT (for the most part). I found this group and read through several of its threads to get an idea what qualifies as a ULTB.
At this point we have just over 500 items with the ULTB tag. Some singletons I did not tag because I figured they were a stretch (a handful of comic books, magazines, Disneyland guide books, Lulu books, etc.).
Before adding the tag I went to most of the listings and cleaned up the author and title and performed a "recalculate author/title". I next visited the author page and performed combining as appropriate. If an item still seemed like an ULTB, I added the tag.
From the discussions, it appears that ULTB might qualify if I have the only copies of a work such as Malcolm, the Waterboy. For my research and collecting I learn about certain works and then try to find any copies or variations I can. I'd like to confirm this before adding the tag to books of this class.
We have several collections but a core part of our library is comprised of American juvenile series books, especially those produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate and those created by its founder Edward Stratemeyer.

It sounds like you are more than qualified to decide if something is ULTB. Tag away!
I'd tag the comic books, magazines Disneyland guide books. As long as you aren't the author tag the Lulu book to. (Heck if you are the author tag the Lulu book too. Who'll know.)
