I just bought this new book today and the bits and pieces I've poked into so far are fascinating. Every time you visit a state park, bring this along with the bird and flower guides. In full, it's Exploring the Geology of the Carolinas: A Field Guide to Favorite Places from Chimney Rock to Charleston. Also, I bought this at Crowders Mountain State Park rather than at a bookstore and was told that a little bit of the money will go into the general parks fund. I'm sure our parks can use even that small amount.
