I thought the obituary of Patrick Leigh Fermor would be of interest to some here.

I am still so impressed with A Time of Gifts I need to make my way through his other writings.

I just found a recently translated short piece by Andrey Platonov on the TLS website.

Its called 'On the First Socialist Tragedy' and was intended for inclusion in a book published by Maxim Gorky with the scintillating title 'Two Five Year Plans'.

Thanks for the Platonov piece, and so sad about Leigh Fermor.
