Between 1988-1998 The Hakluyt Society (London) published 3 volumes (in elephant folio ?) of "The Charts & Coastal Views of Captain Cook's Voyages" edited A. David, R. Joppien & B. Smith.
From 1985-1988 "The Art of Capt. Cook's Voyages" was edited by R. Joppien & B.Smith, published both by Yale UP AND Oxford U P (Australia) in 4 volumes (small Folio ?).
Besides the fact that "The Art.." set has many more coloured illustrations than does "The Charts.." can anyone CONFIRM the extent to which these 2 sets are genuinely complementary, without significant duplication of illustrations, OR is there a high degree of duplication?
All assistance gratefully received - by a Puzzled Bibliophile.

Did you ever find out? Maybe posting in the book talk or other more frequented groups could help.
