>23 Jacksonian: Just Food is one of those titles where a little knowledge can become a dangerous thing. Take, for example, Mr. McWilliams' discussion of aquaculture as if it were a *good* thing. Yet all of the freshwater aquaculture operations that I have seen (in photos) and heard of so far involve water tanks that are composed primarily of plastic. Has anyone done any studies yet on how much of those plastic materials transfer to the water and hence to those fish? Not that I have heard of so far, and I have been looking for awhile.

So aquaculture may turn out to be a toxic pipedream. As may plant aquaculture as well, for similar reasons.
