Once again, Stasia has suggested a lovely idea - end of the year photos of our newest bookworms. Since our last thread topped out at over 300 posts I thought a new thread would do our monsters justice.

Let's see 'em! Who made their grand entrance this year, and how are they doing now? I want stats! I want photos! I want funny stories! And it's all about what I want! ;)

Now to go download all of my holiday photos...

Alright then:

today

(Wednesday) (Xmas Eve)

And there you have The Good Doctor, aka Doc.

ETA Stats:

17 pounds 2 ounces at his sick appointment this week (booo).
Kiddo sleeps about four hours straight on good nights, and I'm always hopeful that we'll have a good night! He already has a tooth and is working on a second, and is all around a pretty happy baby. The big monsters love him, so my biggest challenge is keeping them out of Doc's face. ;)

What a sweetheart! Love those big blue eyes!

Sorry to hear that he is sick. I hope he is feeling better now.

Thanks, Stasia. He has his first-ever ear infection (plus wheezing, plus his brothers's cold), but he seems to be improving. He's still a love, even when sick!

lol yea it was getting pretty long... Sorry it took me so long to respond I like she loves to see him don't get me wrong. She just asks for him very frequently, never comes to my house to see him and even took to him to take his first santa photo without me. I was very sad by this one, like you said it is the behavior not the willingness to watch. She has apologized for the santa thing but it still makes me slightly sad but I will be ok :)

I will get something together a little later lol it has been an amazing year his around 13 pounds or so and over 23 inches long (he was 23 inches long at his 2 month appointment and his now 4 months so I have no idea how long he is right now lol but he looks very long.)

That kind of thoughtless behavior really gets to me too.

I love all that dark hair!

Yes happy baby thread! :) Yes he has so much hair! I was so shocked by it and it has only grown I need to dig up that picture but it is to his shoulders.

I need help, I NEED so advice to know that I am not going insane. My son just started eating pureed food in the last three weeks, his shown great interest and pleasure in trying things but he doesn't want it for long periods and I don't force him to eat more then he shows interest. I slow down when I notice it gives him a tummy upset and give him a few days break and then give him a little to see how he responds. I never change what he eats often his only tried bananas, peaches, and apple sauce. My mother in law had him one night and he comes home the next day and not only did he try more solids but she mixed rice cereal into the jar food. He will be 17 weeks tomorrow, I don't get why she thinks he needs rice cereal in everything. He has reflux but he is gaining enough weight and the doc has even said that the rice cereal would be extra carbs he didn't need and unfourtantly we just might have to get used to doing a lot of laundry. He spits up yes, but it doesn't kill him or make him uncomfortable and her theory on if rice cereal constipates him is to give him karo syrup with every bottle. I figure if it aint broken then why mess with it? Though she says it would make him "sleep" all night, his not going to sleep all night till his ready and his getting so close but when I send him over to her house he suddenly stops and takes a few days to do it once again. I am just at a loss, and at the end of my rope she constantly does things without asking. I mean I don't want to knit pick but his my kid not hers, I want her to have fun with him but why mess with his diet and his first moments that only me and my husband should share with him?

but his my kid not hers

This is the most important point. I say you put your foot down - and ask your ped for some food advice to feed back to her. I know my MIL takes things better if I say, "Well, the pediatrician said ___"

Thanks Luxx that is a really good idea, I didn't even think about it. The one time I did have something from the pediatrician she really did respond better to it, I feel silly that I didn't think about that sooner.

I have only just found this thread! Ill be back to post a pic soonish. But I agree with Luxx on your problem LadyLenneth....you are in charge and its hard to have the confidence to be outspoken about things when you think your MIL has more experience, but you know your baby best and you have your plan.
I hope its got better since you posted on Jan 9th :)

I have been thinking about all those July babies! I can't believe they are already almost a year old! How are they doing? What have they been up too?

Sammy is 9 months old tomorrow. He just started crawling and is starting to get into everything! He still doesn't sleep well :( I was so hoping that I wouldn't still be so tired by now.

I'm sorry to hear that Sammy is giving you a run for your money. Brooksie was like that - he didn't sleep for more than an hour until he was one, but the good news is that after his first birthday he started sleeping through the night within a month or two.

Victor charms us daily, and he's starting to let go of things to grab to the next while standing. I'm guessing we'll have first real steps by his first birthday!
