This little ditty was a common rhyme when I was very young. I wonder if children know it today. Although it is about a teakettle, I always imagined it as a little Brown Betty.
I'm a little teapot short and stout.

It surprises me how many rhymes are unknown to the younger generations.
What really gets me is when people confuse a kettle with a teapot. Unless you are new to the English language, this should be a pretty simple distinction.

I heard him speak last night. He came out in his kilt, was perfectly wonderful and talked about everything under the sun, but I don't recall him mentioning tea. Perhaps he didn't because he knew he was in the land of sweet iced tea drinkers.
