Favorite Tea?

I really like Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings and I wanted to know what your favorite tea is. So, what is your favorite tea?

Oh, dear...I have to limit it to one??? If I had to pick one variety, not necessarily brand, it would be good, dark, malty Assams. But then, I had some excellent Fujian Congou by Nature's Tea Leaf recently--had some cocoa undertones to it. And then again...

I'm way too indecisive to answer this one :)

I love genmaicha.  It's the type of tea that I can drink anytime, anywhere.  For floral teas, I like jasamine.  I always have Numi's Moroccan Mint on my shelf.  For dessert teas, I love rooibos with caramel bits melted in.

My go to tea is also genmai, but I've been on a ginger kick lately and have picked up several blends that have it. My favourite of those would be Murchies ginger green tea - lightly green with a bit of a slap.

I have a long list of favorites, but if I had to banish all the rest I'd hang on to the breakfast teas. They are comfort food.

Lavender Earl Grey is my go to tea. Chai is my favorite pampering tea.

I hate to always be the pedant (actually, I like it), but is the topic limited to "Favorite Teas" or the more general "Favorite Tisanes"? Tension Tamer doesn't contain any tea; nor does Numi's Morracan Mint. Just saying...

Dammann Frères makes a lovely Darjeeling that I quite like. Their Ceylon is elegant, too. Harrod's used to have a fantastic Russian Caravan tea, but they added Yunnan Gold to it, and it just wasn't the same.

Twining's Irish Breakfast to wake me up. Good Earth's Sweet & Spicy for later in the day.

#8 - I'm aware, but I like keeping it general.  We'd lose some good herbal beverages if we stick to tea as aficionados know it.

I love the organic Rooibos & Lavender and also currently liking Ceylon Orange. I also bought White tea with Earl Gray which I haven't tried but it smells wonderful.

Pu Erh. The tea that keeps giving. Some batches/varieties I've reused more than a dozen times.

Depends on the time of day. First thing: got to be English Breakfast. Later in the day, I'm eking out a tiny supply of Teavana's Ginseng Vitality blend. Current favourite non-tea-tea is Pukka's Three Mint tea.

I'm basically a sucker for any black tea blends...Kenilworth estate, Assams...just leave bergamot out of everything though. Can't stand earl grey.

My all time favorite is Twinings Earl Grey. My 2nd best would be English Breakfast.

My absolute favorite is Twining's Irish Breakfast. Their Earl Grey is also special to me, because it was my grandfather's favorite, taken black. He introduced me to the ritual.

I like Taylor's of Harrowgate Assam. And for evening, 365 brand green tea with pomegranate.

Taylor's of Harrowgate is a great tea. I just picked up a box of their Darjeeling. It's lovely.

I will just about try anything from www.bluemoontea.com, I have not tasted one of their Blue Moon Teas that I haven't liked. Right now I'm partial to Chocolate Coconut Truffle. Most of their signature loose teas are available in teabags as well if that's your preference.

Hard to say, but I'm going with houjicha.

P.G. Tips black tea and Buckingham Palace Garden Party Tea from English Tea Store. Garden Party is a "delicate medium tea with hint of Earl Grey and jasmine. This is a lighter afternoon tea." Ah.

My recent favorite is from a local tea shop-seasonal Strawberry Green Tea. I enjoy Rooibos and several other herbal and black teas.

I love Irish Breakfast tea in the morning.

I'm also a fan of some flavored black teas from Harney and Sons, particularly 'Boston' which is "a blend of black tea, cranberry and almond flavors" and 'Paris' "with vanilla and caramel flavors, and a hint of lemony Bergamot."

I need to find some decaf teas I love to drink at night when I'm craving tea but won't keep me up all night.

If you haven't already, you could try straight rooibos tea, which is an uncaffeinated "tea" made from a southern African plant. Some people don't like it, but if you drink vanilla-flavoured blends it might, er, be your cup of tea.

You can get flavoured kinds as well as the red. My favourite right now is a Pina Colada rooibos from Steeped Tea. I love that it is non caffeine so I am trying to drink it at night instead of pop.

Rooibos tea is the red bush tea that Precious Ramotswe drinks in the Number One Ladies Detective Agency books by Alexander McCall Smith. (to bring the discussion to books on LT!)

I don't think I've tried rooibos yet (I'm just starting to branch out to new teas and not just stick to the familiar and favorite). Thanks for the suggestion!

I don't like any herbal 'tea', at least not until I found rooibos. It's far less 'weedy' or 'flowery' than most herbals, and more like tea, in my opinion. It's a good non-caf alternative.

I just discovered Red Rose. Hard to find in our part of the world (Missouri). Pretty tasty for a bagged tea.

I'm a big fan of Twinings English Breakfast (loose leaf) but lately have taken a liking to Tetley's new 'Estates' old style black tea.

I'm partial to a nice Assam or Ceylon loose leaf. Failing that Twinings or STASH's English Breakfast bagged teas are pretty good. For pure cheap spicy flavor, I love Celestial Seasoning's "Nutcracker Sweet." It's hard to find anymore, but is sometimes available at the holidays.

#32 Several years ago, I came across a strawberry black tea that was amazing! But I haven't found it for a long time, and now I've forgotten the brand. It was so good though.

Can't believe that no one has mentioned my all-time favourite: Lapsang Souchong - amazing smokey flavour, absolutely brilliant with a good slab of dark fruit cake, mmmmm....

Red Rose black tea is my standard fare since the 1980s. It's a strong but mild tasting tea and it never turns bitter, even if it steeps in the pot all day. And one single serving bag makes a whole pot of good black tea. Sometimes it's hard to find, so I stock up. Last year the store I rely on had only Red Rose English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast, with half the count and at twice the price, but I decided to try them. I was not impressed. AND, the packaging mimicked Lipton et al with each tea bag wrapped in it's own paper envelope, which I find offensive and ecologically unsound. It took me an hour to unwrap each one and place them in the airtight tin I store teabags in. I wrote to the company with my comments, but I never got an acknowledgement, which disappointed me.

Red Rose has finally become available locally, and you're right---it takes "sloppy steeping" well. That's a winner for the perpetually distracted, of which I am one :)

My usual go-to tea is Irish breakfast, but I'm also very partial to a good Tieguanyin. It depends whether I'm in the mood for tea with milk or without.

I have so many! But if I could only pick one, it would be Bigelow's French Vanilla for sure. Celestial Seasonings Victorian Earl Grey is a very close second.

I'm in a lighter oxidation oolong and green focused phase right now, but I'm also drinking a lot of pu erh's for work. Favorites of the month are probably ti kwan yin and fo cha.

I love green tea and lemon ginger tea. Stash and Twinings brands.

Also chai. Does chai count?

I like a good Darjeeling. With honey, and no milk.

Lapsang Souchong.

Unfortunately, it's a rare restaurant that serves it, so when I'm not home, I default to Earl Grey.

Lapsang Souchong is my favorite as soon as the weather starts turning cooler in the fall. I recently started drinking Kenyan black tea in the morning. It makes a wonderful breakfast tea and it's pretty strong, so a little goes a long way.
This summer I was addicted to a coconut green tea. It made delicious iced tea.

Now having a "thing" for Tazo's Peachy Green Tea (without milk). It is my afternoon tea, being fruity and with a bit less caffeine than the morning breakfast varieties.

Two favorites for morning cup from Harney's: CTC Assam--rich, complex, strong, many flavors and very high in caffeine content, not an afternoon tea; East Frisian Blend--very aromatic, seems to have slightly less caffeine content, has a mild astringentsy and is a blend of Assam and other teas, most popular tea in northern Germany where it's their go-to cup in East Friesland.

Perfect drunk blank, not too strong not bitter, just soft and enjoyable without the floral/green notes of darjeeling which I don't always fancy.

I'm also a breakfast tea fan, either Stash or Twinings. And when I can get it, Twinings Australian Afternoon is terrific. Iced - I love Mighty Leaf's Ginger Peach.
