I was so hoping they would announce the winner at midnight U.K. time. :-(

If I understand correctly, the awards ceremony is this evening and the winner will be announced at 7 pm London time (which is 2 pm Eastern time in the US).

I can't wait!

Me either! I am very excited to hear who won and the wait will make the early part of the day drag a bit.

THE WINNER, JUST ANNOUNCED, IS MAY WE BE FORGIVEN'S A.M. HOMES.

I haven't read the Homes, but I have to say that they are completely deranged. Bring Up the Bodies will likely be my book of the decade at least!

really? who were the judges? Bring up the Bodies would be my choice too.

I watched the live streaming of the prize being given. " The Women’s Prize in Fiction is awarded each year to “celebrate excellence, originality and accessibility." I would have liked Life After Life to have gotten the prize, but with those criteria in mind, I suppose May We Be Forgiven does fit.
