Hello,
My french grand-father fought in Vosges during WWII, he was in the "Commandos de France" regiment who had fight alongside the "Bataillon de choc" french regiment, the US army against german soldiers.
In France, we have some books detailing this story, do you know some american or german testimonies ?

In English quite a few: When the Odds Were Even: The Vosges Mountains Campaign, October 1944-January 1945, Lost Battalions: Going for Broke in the Vosges, Autumn 1944;
an interesting German story is (in English) Five Years, Four Fronts: A German Officer's World War II Combat Memoir ...I think these are all available now in paperback from Amazon.

Part of Alfred Steurich's history of 6th SS Mountain Division Gebirgsjäger im Bild is dedicated to combat in the Vosges (Bitsch - Rothbach - Hagenau), be it against US troops.
