Thought I'd share the passing of Mavis Gallant, according to CBC News, then thought it might be wise to make this topic more general so we can continue to pay tribute to the passing of figures in Canadian literature as they occur.

I heard the news and then pulled one of her short story collections off the shelf to read in memory of her. Sad news...
