Psychiatrist Lorna Wing died June 6 at the age of 85. She was the author of Early Childhood Autism and Autistic Child: A Guide For Parents.

Eric Hill, illustrator and author of the children's series about Spot the Dog, died June 6 at the age of 86. Some of the more popular in the series are Where's Spot and Spot Goes to School.

Actress Ruby Dee died June 11 at the age of 89. She was the author of Two Ways to Count to Ten and My One Good Nerve.
