Someone changed the Dutch translation back to words like "alaam", "polsslag", "honk", "pretstatistieken", that I thought that we all agreed on are not good. Alaam is not in the dictionary, polsslag is ridiculous, honk is simply not right, pretstatistieken is stupid.
Can we please do something that one person cannot keep forcing his stupid translations upon the site?
I propose that we vote for all these words in one go, and ask LT to block these words from changing the translation. Or if that's not possible, remove everyone from LT who changes a voted for translation.
Is there a procedure for proposing someone for lifelong removal from LT?

I'm getting tired too of these "odd" translations. Yesterday I changed it all back and today it is all the same again.................Pfff
You don't have to ban him, he has also the right to use LT and he did a lot of good works too, but he is, next to the good things and translations he did, a little bit stubborn about some translations, which nobody else likes and he doesn't like the democratic solution Tim suggested.

So, we're not banning anyone, not without serious TOS violations.
It seems pretty clear that a number of these translations are disliked my most if not all Dutch LT members. If a good number of members say so here, that should be taken into account by the person doing it. This is a collaborative translation, not a single person's efforts.
If things are simply irresolvable, then a vote can be called. The fact that there's voting, however, does not absolve members from the responsibility to act with consideration toward others.

Is it possible, Tim, to simply prevent him from having the ability to translate (rather than ban him)? Or is that too difficult, technically?

You could also consider to introduce something like the three-revert rule (3RR) they use in Wikipedia.

I hope this puts an end to open disregard for the spirit of this enterprise. I call upon ALL members to obey these rules. For example, some of you who have been involved in the fight over "Alaam" are disqualified by virtue of the three-times rule from making any changes to this translation.
