Jack Whyte famous for his Arthurian Series "Camulod" beginning with The Skystone has recently released a flood of new books. There is the Legends of Camelot series - according to Fantastic Fiction book one is Excalibur and runs through 9 books all released across 2013/14. I suspect that with such a quick release of 9 books that this is merely a re-release of "Camulod" which also runs to 9 books.

Then there is his dive into the Anglo Scots war (just in time for the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn). Called either the Guardians Trilogy or the Bravehearts Trilogy it begins with a book about William Wallace called either The Forest Laird or Rebel (this one won't touchstone) which are linked as one work on Fantastic Fiction and here on LT. The next installment should be about Robert the Bruce, for which there is The Renegade or Robert the Bruce both listed on LT as seperate works but Fantastic Fiction links them as a single work. However while trolling The Book Depository waiting for the mass market size release of Robert the Bruce I stumled across another book called Resistance (again not touchstoning) it is listed as an independant work in Fantastic Fiction, the Book Depository lists it as part of the Bravehearts trilogy and here on LT it is listed as book 3 of the Guardians Trilogy. Descriptions of the book say that it is about Bruce but the text is different to that Bruce/Renegade.

Supposedly Whyte is also writing a book on James Douglas to cap off the trilogy but that would be book 4 in the trilogy if Resistance is different from Renegade.

Can anyone untangle the mess for me as I don't want to buy the same book two or three times just because the title is different. I nearly fell into this hole with James Wilde's series about Hereward. What saved me is the two different titles for each book had the same description text on Fantastic Fiction and The Book Depository.

Cheers

I just took delivery of Resistance by Jack Whyte and then used the "look inside" facility on Amazon to check out The Renegade and Robert the Bruce.

All three have the same opening paragraph so unless someone can tell me that one or the other go further than Resistance I am happy to assume that I have the book I need

Cheers
