Regency Mystery - Honeymoon with Death

On their honeymoon trip through Europe, Prudence and Knighton join a small group of travelers to see the triple falls on the river Velino in Italy when tragedy strikes. Their carriage breaks down on a remote road, they are accosted by bandits, and escape only to find one of the travelers dead the next morning in a ravine near the bandits’ ambush location. The mystery deepens when they discover the victim is wearing another traveler’s cloak.

To make matters worse, the inn they are forced to stay in is reputed to be haunted.

As Knighton and Pru investigate, they discover the other passengers of the coach were not the strangers they seemed. Revenge, envy, and frustrated love vie as motives, and Knighton is pushed to desperation when Pru disappears. He must use every ounce of logic and intelligence to find his wife and identify the murderer before there is another death on the road to Rome.

If you are interested in receiving a copy of Honeymoon with Death to review, please let me know. Both ebook, and a limited number of paperbacks are available.

Thanks and happy reading!

Tony Gabriel is an investigative journalist. He's a hard-nosed scientific rationalist who exposes frauds and charlatans and is very sure of himself until he receives a strange bequest from a long-dead historian, including a human skull. Tony investigates and is led to the wealthy and secretive Chadwick Foundation.

Are they just rich, powerful people playing an elaborate game, or have they truly gained paranormal powers to penetrate the mystery of the future? Eve Canning is the keeper of The Foundation's secrets, a powerful and enigmatic woman whose regal beauty turns Tony’s search for the truth into a very personal quest - and his life and beliefs upside down.

Those who have read it so far have enjoyed the story and I'd love to find some dedicated thriller readers who would enjoy reviewing it.

My novella, Velvet Lies, will be free on amazon for the kindle for the next few days. (If you don't do kindle just wait, and I'll offer it as a member giveaway in a month or so). It shares a setting with my fantasy books Cantata in Coral and Ivory, and Pavane and Pearl and Emerald, but there is no magic involved, so it reads more like historical mystery (set in some country you've never heard of) than your typical fantasy. :)

Zelli, a minor official of the neighboring country, arrives at the Coral Palace carrying messages, only to discover that the ambassador he's supposed to deliver them to is suspected of murder. He needs to find the true culprit and clear the ambassador name before a diplomatic disaster can occur.

Hello to you wherever you may be.

I’d like to mention here my new novella “Down into the Darkness” that is out this month.

It follows the fortunes of thirty-something Tony Jenks who lives alone and is happy enough, though he understands that he is missing out on things in life.

Then one night whilst in bed, alone as usual, he hears noises the likes of which he has never heard before, and Tony’s journey down into oblivion has begun.

It’s a snappy read; leastways I hope it is, clocking in at around 120 pages.

You can see the book trailer on youtube here.

https://youtu.be/JYRj3WKxF90

And if you’d like a mobi ebook, or pdf, for review purposes please drop me a line at getcarter6 @ aol com and I’ll sort one out for you.

Thanks for reading, and a big thanks to LibraryThing for giving me this opportunity to talk about my books.

Have fun,

David Carter

Dirt Nap Rhapsody - to anyone willing to post an honest review here and wherever else you'd like, I can send you a link to download a free E-Book in whatever format you prefer. Let me know if you're interested.

Dirt Nap Rhapsody - A novel about love, marriage, and the murder it takes to make it last.

Tag and Lori are the couple on the top of the wedding cake. Everything about their relationship is perfect and they're both deliriously happy -- except for one tiny little, earth-shattering problem.

Her name is Marcie and despite the fact that Tag likes to think of himself as a pretty decent guy, he just can't shake his desire to do some... well, some not so decent things with her. When his obsession with Marcie gets to the point that he finally breaks down and confesses his struggles to Lori, Tag is touched by her compassionate and understanding response. He breathes a sigh of relief -- until the next day when Marcie turns up dead.

Could sweet, dainty, couldn't-hurt-a-fly Lori be a... be a... Tag can't even bring himself to think it. But could she? Detective Steiner doesn't think so. The way he sees it, Tag is guilty as hell and it's only a matter of time before the truth comes spilling out of him. Of course Tag knows that's impossible because he doesn't even know the truth himself -- and he's not sure if he wants to.

Of course the truth may come out anyway if Susan keeps poking around. Susan is Tag and Lori's recently widowed next door neighbor whose hobbies include gardening, drinking and hypochondria. She also has a thing for Tag and a poor understanding of the concept of boundaries, so there's a small chance that Lori might want to murder her too. Assuming of course that Lori is capable of something like... something like...

On second thought, Tag and Lori have more than one tiny little problem.

Hi Everyone -

In order to kick off the publication of my new book in the Kate Stanton Hollywood Mystery series called THE CROSSING AT BLAISDELL PARK on May 22, 2015, I'm offering another book in the series free all week called THE TIES THAT BIND through to May 22, 2015. Like all my other books in the series, it's a standalone book. I hope you have the chance to check it out. Now here's a little about THE TIES THAT BIND:

Kate Stanton's former son-in-law, Dr. Eric Devane, is a prominent Beverly Hills doctor who's now engaged to beautiful Brooke Connelly, only a few years older than his eldest daughter. With the impending arrival of his and Brooke's baby through a surrogate -- who happens to be his eldest daughter's best friend -- Eric's life has become very complicated, but not nearly as complicated as his fiancee's past.

Four years ago, Brooke Connelly made the biggest mistake of her life when she betrayed her mobster boyfriend by tipping off the intended victim of his next hit. Her timely intervention had nearly cost Brooke her life after she was beaten and left for dead by her boyfriend in retaliation for her betrayal. In desperation, Brooke turned to one of the most powerful men in Las Vegas for protection -- unaware that her arrangement with Clint Staebler was non-negotiable and permanent. Brooke has since relocated to L.A., where she's the general manager of a popular restaurant and nightclub, both owned by Clint Staebler. With her recent engagement to Eric, Brooke is determined to cut all ties to her past but the cards seem to be stacked against her when Eric finds out about her past relationship with Clint Staebler and demands to know where her loyalties lie. Caught between a murderer and a man who refuses to let her go at all costs, Brooke plays her one trump card in the hopes that it will be enough to sever her ties to her past, once and for all. In this sweeping murder mystery set against the glitzy backdrop of Vegas and the powerhouse that is Hollywood, past mistakes are never forgotten and revenge is what makes it all worthwhile...

Hello,

The D.S. Billings Victorian Mysteries are a new series of 19th Century detective novels. Featuring a repressed homosexual and morphine addict as its protagonist, these gruesome, lurid and thrilling tales evoke the best of what the Victorian Sensation Novel had to offer.

There are two novels so far in this series. Both are stand alone stories and can be enjoyed on their own.

Death Takes a Lover

The Ornamental Hermit

http://viewbook.at/deathtakesalover

I can give away free copies in epub, mobi, pdf to anyone who is willing to review either or both books.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks

Mike Malloy, a novice PI, has chosen to hang out his shingle in the Square. One of his first cases—find Susan Worthman, aka Susie Sparkle, a teenage runaway. With the help of Square denizen and small-time drug dealer Stoney Sundown, Mike begins a nightmare journey that sends him on a roller coaster ride through the turbulent counterculture of the Square—with all its drugs, sex, and political street clashes—and into the darkest depths of the Combat Zone, Boston’s notorious red-light district—with all its strip joints, peep shows, dirty bookstores, and assorted other degenerate delights.

I have a book out called Dominion, and it is a post-apocalyptic thriller about animals suddenly turning into giant, ravaging monsters and taking over the world. Here are the links at LibraryThing and Amazon:

https://www.librarything.com/work/15334844
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NJ6T5GW

All I ask is for your honest review at Librarything and on Amazon. (If you post anywhere else such as Goodreads or your own blog, feel free to post there as well.)

I hope you take a chance on Dominion like these people did:

"This is one of the most well thought out Post-Apocalyptic stories I have read." - All Things Book Reviews

"Great imagery, realistic characterization, sense driven description, and witty dialogue all make this story far more than just a post-apocalyptic story."-Dora

"Plenty of action keeps the reader totally involved in the story."-James

"Dominion by Doug Goodman was a fast paced adventure that I really did not want to put down. The concept is that the natural order has been turned on its head and suddenly humans are not the apex predator….Keeps you wondering what will happen next."-Christine

A reporter looking for facts. A homicide detective looking for answers. When a string of suspicious deaths points to the State Department, it doesn’t take long to uncover the agency’s lies. Can they live long enough to reveal the truth?

Detective Blake Madison has a connection to the murders too, and will risk anything to uncover the truth. But a journalist is the last person he’d rely on to help him solve a crime—especially one whose trail of evidence leads back to him.

Joining forces becomes essential as the body count continues to grow. Someone powerful doesn't want the truth to come out—and will stop at nothing to make sure no one talks.

On the run with nowhere to turn, the couple devises a plan to expose the killer. The risk is great and the chance of success small, but the ultimate outcome is something neither one of them envisioned.

Restless Desires by Stacie Orion
a cozy romantic mystery

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CSOTPX8

---
With "Shoot first, ask later" as hotshot detective Xander Lewis' motto, he's more likely to kill someone than solve a case. When a gruesome murder occurs at a Victorian mansion, he and his sidekick are called in to investigate. Tactless, quick to judge, and borderline comical, he has ample opportunities to rub people the wrong way. With the list of suspects mounting and no murder weapon to be found, he's got his work cut out for him. Will he be able to solve the mystery, or will his unorthodox methods finally land him in trouble?

Meanwhile, feisty stay-at-home mom Kim Verraros can't stand her mother-in-law. Their petty feud has lasted over 20 years and she's beginning to feel like victory is out of reach. But when she gets a call from her P.I. with proof of juicy dirt on her arch nemesis, she has a tough decision to make: should she use this information to her benefit, or is keeping family together more important than personal gratification? Or maybe she should keep an eye on her own sordid secrets?

Newly released thriller . . .

A ROMANCE REKINDLED.

BUT FIRST THEY'LL PLAY WITH FIRE . . .

Quinn Woodstrum appears to have it all: a beautiful wife and son he adores, a charming colonial in the tree-lined suburbs, and a fulfilling career as a criminal profiler.

Quinn's insecurities run deep, though, and a particularly trying time both personally and professionally has them unexpectedly rising to surface level. An inaccurate assessment leads to a dangerous decision--one that not only threatens to cost him all that he's acquired through the years, but his freedom as well. Seduced by a flirtatious, younger woman and subsequently incarcerated for attempted murder, Quinn struggles to keep his family intact while his wife Nicole pulls out every stop to prove his innocence . . . to the world and herself.

But significant hurdles arise that require decisions of her own to be made--most of which would never be considered, much less approved of, by Quinn.

And only so many chances at keeping alive to be able to deliver the results . . .

One of my quick thrillers is up for grabs as a Member Giveaway this month. First Contract has been a big hit with readers who like authors as diverse as Lee Child and Stieg Larsson, and has attracted a stack of 4* and 5* reviews on Amazon UK. It would be great to reach new readers and introduce them to JJ Stoner - and this is, in effect, his 'secret origin' story so it's an ideal place to start.
Hopefully you'll enjoy and it and help to spread the word - and feedback is always welcome.

Scroll down the list until you get to the 'request by Jul 18 section:
https://goo.gl/hSt02t

This is what you're letting yourself in for: an action-packed ebook featuring covert operative JJ Stoner, who uses sharp blades and blunt instruments to discreetly solve problems for the UK government.

A decade ago, JJ Stoner was a soldier. He killed people for a living and made no bones about it. On a scorching day in the Iraqi desert, when British blood stained the sand, he over-stepped the mark. Men died in compromising circumstances; too many men for an easy explanation. Faced with a dishonourable discharge and accusations of murder, Stoner accepted an offer from a stranger who represented an intelligence agency. Suddenly, Stoner found himself half a world away and about to execute his first private contract…

FIRST CONTRACT, a quick thriller, introduces the central character from the JJ Stoner / Killing Sisters series. You don’t need to have read any of the other stories in the series: you can start right here if you like.

As well as a complete, stand-alone story, First Contract includes an excerpt from ‘A Last Act of Charity’ and a sneak preview of the sequel, ‘The Corruption of Chastity.’

(Please note that FIRST CONTRACT is intended for an adult audience and contains explicit scenes of a sexual and/or violent nature. )

Hope you enjoy it!

Thriller - Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place

“For those who love thrillers, paranormal twists, epic adventures, mystery, and adrenaline spiked tales; this is one book you won’t be able to put down! A book filled with tales of terror to chill your bones.”

In Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place, author Vanta M. Black takes you on an extraordinary journey to a castle in the Loire Valley of France. Inspired by the real oubliette at Leap Castle, the famed most-haunted castle in Ireland, this incredible book filled with courage and tragedy will lift you, shock you, stir you–and leave you begging for more.

Filled with tales of chilling thrills, mysticism, mystery, epic adventure and mouth dropping tales of terror, you might want to put “Oubliette: A Forgotten Little Place” on your vacation reading list.

For all you readers who are unfamiliar with the term oubliette, an oubliette is one of the most grueling types of dungeons known to man. An oubliette is a specific type of dungeon that has only one escape route — through a trapdoor in its ceiling. An oubliette is very well constructed from the captor’s point of view. With the only entrance and exit being in the ceiling far above where the prisoner stands, escape is pretty much impossible.

Hi All,
Matriarchs: Eliza's Revenge is a sci-fi/ mystery/ romance available for free on Smashwords this month. I would also be happy to provide a hard copy for an honest review!
Gaia is a matriarchy and Winga does not believe the women there would participate in drug smuggling. But why, then, was her husband murdered? And will she really have to marry again in order to find out? Captain Rifkin Lile would like to get back into space, so he'll do as he's told by the Admiral -- even if it means marrying that woman, and going to Gaia with her.

Hi guys,

A prequel to the Fallacies series, The First Look, is out and it's available for free on Barnes & Noble. I am really looking for reviews to get it ranked higher. It's very short, only 21 pages (according to my nook), and is a suspense-filled mystery/action.

Here's a synopsis to it: Secrets have a place in every family. Some are insignificant, while others can control an entire nation. Three years after chasing a mystery that his parents safeguarded him from, Sean Davis is responsible for recruiting soldiers into the military. Despite this, he can't ignore the plan the Council has in place for the new nation. In the midst of his attempt to jeopardize it, he meets the one person that he can't allow to be impacted.

This is the link to it on Barnes & Noble: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-first-look-maya-tripathi/1124462739?ean=2940...

Thank you so much for your help!

Best regards,

Murder in the Tremiti Isles:

A wealthy tourist from Bologna has been killed in the Tremiti Isles and the reporter Rosario Saru Santacroce, a nice, talkative and charismatic Salento journalist, writes about the murder in the beautiful contest of Tremiti Islands (Puglia, South Italy). During the reading you can hear the sea, see the sun, smell good food, imagine sex meetings.

In this novel you can find suspense, love of good food, love of life with a smile on your face. Because even tragedies and difficulties are best approached with good humor. A sort of ode to life is what Rosario Saru Santacroce offers his readers. The protagonist of this thriller is a forty year old Salento reporter who lives in Bologna and works for a local newspaper. A rough and rational man, talkative, charismatic, ready to savor every moment of life as if it was the last. Nicknamed Saru (the nickname that is given in Salento to those named like him), he covers the city's crime beat. As often happens, occasionally work also follows him on holidays because a real reporter is destined (almost) never to unplug. And that is probably why he gets entangled in the murder of a wealthy tourist from Bologna who like him is on vacation in the Tremiti Islands.
Saru had met the victim the day before during a boat trip and the two had hit it off. The first to rush to the scene of the crime was none other than Saru and for that reason he ends up among the suspects. Journalists of all the national newspapers arrive on the island but Saru always manages to get a bit more news than the others thanks to his friendship with the marshal of the local station who hails from the same part of Italy as him.

The story is peppered with amusing expressions in the Salento dialect related to the food, tastes and customs of that part of Italy surrounded by two seas and contains the right mix of eroticism and suspense. The author reveals the often humorous interplay between fellow-journalists, refers to real news stories and packs the investigation with twists right up to the surprise ending.

A plot to assassinate the Israeli Prime Minister during a visit to Singapore.

At an ancient café in Cairo, two veteran spies plot a covert mission to resolve — once and for all — the Israeli – Palestinian conflict. The pledge: Israel will make a major concession as part of the peace treaty. In Singapore, Jethro Westrope, a magazine journalist, stumbles onto the scene of a murder: the beautiful Niki Kishwani directs him, in her last breath, to a digital recorder, evidence that puts Jethro’s life in serious danger. And, much worse, he is framed for Niki’s murder. Jethro sets out to find Niki’s killer and is drawn into a web of deception and intrigue involving officials from the Singaporean, Israeli, and American governments, each with a complex, competing, and potentially deadly agenda. Against this pulse-pounding backdrop, Jethro races to find answers and save himself —yet nothing is as it seems. He finds himself at the centre of a political plot so diabolical and sweeping in its world implications that he is stunned to discover tomorrow’s news headlines today. He is being set up not only as a murderer but as an assassin, and something much larger than his own fate is in his hands.

Hi Everyone!

I've just released my second novel and one novella, through Amazon and Kindle.

Gate 6...Murder at Black Oaks is the second in a series about my protagonist Madeline Abbott, an historic preservationist expert. In this story Madeline becomes the prime suspect in a grisly murder. Then there is a violent attack and attempted murder--along with a clever con artist out to find a long lost fortune in gold. Detectives Cooper and Morales return. The setting is at Black Oaks, a derelict nineteenth century sea side mansion Madeline has inherited from her parents.

The first novel, Unkindness of Ravens, introduces Madeline as well as Detectives Cooper and Morales who help solve the complex conspiracy that ended with three murders: the murder of both her father and mother and her mother's assistant. Not only must she deal with the deaths, but the diaries her mother leaves behind that include shocking and unbelievable revelations about her family. The setting here is Raven's Nest an 1895 Gothic/Tudor mansion.

I've also just released a novella entitled: Eleanor & Clay, a Story of Love and Loss. It is the story of the start of the Abbott dynasty. How Madeline's parents met and the tragedy that overtakes their love.

Eye of the Moon

ASIN: B0771WLMXF
Genre: Mystery, Gothic Mystery, Thriller
Formats Available For Review: Paperback ARC (Limited Quantities, only available to qualified reviewers/bloggers in the U.S.), PDF, .MOBI, EPUB (via download from BookFunnel)

Described as a "gothic mystery of the finest order" (IndieReader), an "ingeniously constructed... engrossing tale of mystery and magic" (Kirkus Reviews), "gripping, intense, thorough. Everything I wanted in a thriller, and then some." (Nick Thacker, author). "In ambiance it rivals 'Downton Abbey', but the plot tells a far more intense and shocking story." (Tom Hyman, author). "Filled with hidden motives, mysterious relics, and sinister unknowns, 'Eye of the Moon' evokes the drama of 'Dynasty' with the atmosphere of Manderley." (Jennifer Whitman, professional bookseller, Barnes & Noble).

This debut mystery/thriller follows Percy and Johnny, raised like brothers but fractured from a past business deal gone terribly wrong, as they attend a five-day weekend house party celebrating a notable anniversary of Johnny's parents. The initial concerns laid out in the first chapter swiftly morph into something far more sinister as they discover Johnny's aunt Alice may have been murdered, and everyone in their party of family and friends have secrets and high-stakes agendas. Suddenly thrust into the center of the maelstrom, Percy has to face demons (literally and figuratively) and discovers true friendship, redemption, and love.

"... Obolensky conjures a remarkably imaginative tale, seamlessly juxtaposing the quotidian and the magical in a way that renders the latter mesmerizingly plausible. Johnny and Percy's headlong march into the occult world that may have destroyed Alice is shockingly inadvisable and yet seems to make sense all the same. In addition, the author has a morbid gift for the deion of human turpitude that simultaneously inspires both revulsion and awe... Alice's complex character powerfully emerges as the plot's tonal center, a bewitching amalgam of moral strength, intellectual vitality, and a lust for life. Likewise, Stanley is far more than meets the eye, and Obolensky skillfully portrays him with literary restraint, leaving the reader to deliciously wonder if he's truly a friend or a secret foe... the story as a whole remains a transfixing one, ingeniously constructed. Despite its length, an engrossing tale of mystery and magic." -Kirkus Reviews

"A gothic mystery set in 1977--involving the occult, stolen treasure, family secrets, and financial sabotage--'Eye of the Moon' is sumptuous in its deion of white-tie dinner parties and sexual tensions with baronesses, and sharp in its maneuvering of several secret puzzles at once.

"When Johnny Dodge knocks on Percy's door and asks him to help uncover whether they've accidentally drunk the bottles of ChAteau Lafite 1959 that Johnny's parents were saving for their anniversary, Percy should have known that more than fine wine would be opened during a weekend in Rhinebeck, the Dodge family estate that always felt a bit peculiar. Soon the best friends are deep in a mystery involving the questionable death of Johnny's aunt Alice, the occult, hidden paternity, and high-stakes financial risk--all over the course of a weekend party at the unsettling estate.

"The mysteries are finely woven together and readers must think fast on their feet if they hope to keep up with the meticulous minds of the weekend guests. Percy is a capable protagonist for this high-stakes maneuvering, and half of the fun is reading his deions of the five-course meals served by Dagmar and the fine liquors decanted by Stanley, who run the house for the Dodges. The style occasionally sounds better fit for the 1940's than the 1970's, but it fits the tone of the book..." -IndieReader, 4.7 stars, IR approved

In a recent murder, a man is indicted. His Modus Operandi or Method of Operation is the signature of an infamous notorious serial killer named 'The Black Smith', known for inflicting grave torturing prior to putting his victims to death. The Black Smith's killing spree spanned over a period of 20 years. Due to the varied victimology, it made it utterly impossible for the Law Enforcements, including the Federal Investigating Unit to profile him until very recently; 83 victims had his insignia. During the early years, when he started, he was referred to as 'the copy cat', copying the MO of a serial killer, ' Full Moon Butcher ' of the 80s, to the very exact detail – who went dormant almost suddenly. The indicted man is shifted to a high security prison, where he unusually comes across a series of writings on the cell wall. These writings contain unusual depictions about an undiscovered life, of a supposed 'Yellow Winged Stranger', the Master of the Ordinary; an ex-prisoner trapped in the compulsion of his own making. And he has a message for the convict.

Korea 38-Parallels, a Contemporary Historical Novel of divided Koreas, based on experiences by Hoyle Leigh, MD, a psychiatrist.

When Bo Moon takes his seven-year-old son to a ski resort in Utah, he sees smoke rising in the mountains. This one magical moment takes the psychiatrist back to a painful part of his life, when all he could focus on was survival. “Smoke rises in the distant mountain” was one of the first phrases he was taught in Korean. Bo’s parents, Suk and Yunhee, had been desperate to remove any trace of their Japanese background, as the Korean peninsula was torn apart by infighting and eventually war.
Bo looks back on his childhood, first in the Manchurian frontier. Bo Moon and his parents make it on the last southbound train to Seoul, South Korea, when their home in Manchuria is destroyed by the invading Russian Red Army. Bo is only three at the time and doesn’t understand why his parents, Suk and Yunhee, are worried about him speaking Japanese or revealing his heritage. He has a strained relationship with his father, Suk, who gave up a career in education to join the often-corrupt police force. Yunhee, on the other hand, sacrifices everything for her son when the North Korean invasion pushes them into a refugee camp.
Bo is not Suk’s only son. His eldest boy, Hoon, finds a career in the Communist forces of North Korea. As Bo struggles to adjust to life in Seoul and is once again displaced by the North Korean invasion, Hoon is plotting a murder. He believes the only way to get rid of the patriarchal fascism of Korea is to kill his own father.
Meanwhile, in Pyongyang, a young woman faces the horrors of North Korean labor camps, and a sadistic officer plots his revenge against his father—Suk Moon! Bo and Hoon are linked not just by blood but by fate. The two half brothers are destined to meet in this thrilling family saga about life and love during wartime.
The stories of these disparate people will entangle and collide in this vivid portrait of a nation torn apart.

But safe in his stronghold, Al’ Jalaad is orchestrating a terror attack that will leave a scar on the American psyche deeper than Vietnam. All he needs is the American higher command to follow their standard playbook to unleash a catastrophic chain of events.

Singing in Silence is a Historical Spiritual Thriller:

Gather the women, the ghostly vision told Stella and Maggie.
Best friends since the Summer of Love, now both going through the Change—hormonally and personally. One divorced, one widowed—both unknowingly part of a plan destined 500 years ago.

Thrust into a world where there are no accidents; everything is connected.
A seemingly random series of events: a secret told to children during WWI, 2012, a sacred doll—and a French priest and his mother with connections to Chartres Cathedral. Soon the two are on an epic journey starting in San Francisco to France and ending in the land of goddesses in Turkey.

But there are those that can’t let the women gather. GA7, a private military firm, and the Catholic Church are soon waging a quantum war to make sure the Elites stay in power.
Singing in Silence is a page-turner brimming with history, sisterhood, fashion and a return to a culture of peace.

"One of the cleverest stories I've read this year. It’s not strictly science fiction, not strictly dystopian and it’s not strictly Philip Marlowe either, although I think it could be described as a smashup of all of these influences. It's whip-smart, well-paced, deeply satirical and dappled with just enough dark and light to keep the reader riveted"
ANNE CUNNINGHAM (IRISH INDEPENDENT, IRISH TIMES, SUNDAY TIMES OF LONDON)

"Brave New World meets 1984 in this Big Brother masterpiece."
KRISTI ELIZABETH, SAN FRANCISCO BOOK REVIEW

"Freaking amazing. Any agent or publishing house that passed this up made a big mistake. This is also a nomination for our Novel of the Year award. Captivating and timely, with a perfect bittersweet ending." SANDRA RUTTAN, UNDERGROUND BOOK REVIEWS

"A quality piece of work." SFCROWSNEST

"A satisfying blend of literary inspection, social commentary, dystopian world analysis and individual dilemmas to keep readers guessing and thinking to the end of Billy's perplexing, fast-paced day. The satire involved is so delicate that initial references might slip by readers at first; but as the story progresses, these insights and references become tangible, recognizable parts of a plot that readers will come to anticipate with delight. Highly recommended." DIANE DONOVAN, MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

Hi Everyone! I'm giving away review copies of my new thriller/suspense novel, "Campus Confidential," to anyone interested. The blurb is below; please feel free to email me at sidstarkauthor@gmail.com if you'd like a mobi, ePub, or PDF copy.
Thanks,
Sid

“Brilliantly-written and highly entertaining, a must read…” The Prairies Book Review
Doctor Rowena Halley needs a job. But it may cost her more than she’s bargained for.
During one of the worst years on record in the academic job market, newly-minted PhD Rowena Halley has, against all odds, gotten a job. For one semester. At poverty wages. In New Jersey. But with so many of her fellow PhDs bagging groceries—or worse—instead of teaching Russian, this is the best chance she has.
New jobs come with a lot of stress, everyone knows that. But Rowena has more problems than just learning her way around a new campus and convincing all these Yankees that yes, she really is from Georgia. Tensions in the department are high, her family wants to know when she’s going to get a decent job and a decent man, and her ex-boyfriend is as usual persona non grata with the Russian government. It’s when students start coming to her for help that she really gets into trouble, though. Rowena got where she is because she wants to help people and save the world, but if she’s not careful, her idealism may get her killed.
Witty and suspenseful in the vein of the Stephanie Plum novels, Campus Confidential is an insider’s look at the gritty underbelly of academia, where the struggles are so vicious because the stakes are so small. Only sometimes, they’re a matter of life and death.

Hi Everyone! I am offering free Advance Review Copies of my book, Mind in Chains (Mind Sleuth Series Book 3). The books do not need to be read in order.

I am letting Prolific Works handle the distribution. They will ask for your email address and I use them ONLY to follow up on the book and to extend an invitation to join my mailing list. I will NOT automatically add you to my newsletter, which just forces people to unsubscribe.

Book Description: It was spring in the Midwest and the perfect storm was brewing.

A scientist of considerable renown, Dr. James Conroy, Jr., was leading a grassroots movement to improve access to medical treatment in the United States. At the same time, a group known as the Crusaders for Common Sense was rallying around the cry, “Stop Playing God with Medicine.” Claiming that medical science merely maintained the body while the soul rotted from within, they stood opposed to Conroy—violently opposed.

Like most residents of St. Louis, Missouri, Sam “Doc” Price and Nicole Veles watched in horror as the violence escalated. But after a noted medical researcher was attacked at Nicole’s apartment, she and Doc were plunged into a world of domestic terrorism.

Doc found an unlikely ally in FBI Special Agent Rebecca Marte. Together, they tried to make sense of the Crusaders’ actions that defied all logic. The terrorists showed no fear of identification—or even death. In the end, Doc risked everything he loved in a final, deadly gambit with the Crusaders, only to find that the cost of his ploy might be more than he was willing to pay.

Just released my latest book - The Poinciana Tree

This story is set around the beautiful Poinciana tree, with its amazing red flowers.

Suzanne Matthews arrives home from work to find the kitchen in disarray and her daughter missing. After searching the house, her eyes turn towards the garden, drawn to the Poinciana tree. Underneath its canopy she sees her daughter, slumped against its trunk.

When the police are unable to identify Jennifer’s killer, they turn their attention to her husband, Mark. Whilst trying to cope with her grief, she finds herself fighting to prove her husband’s innocence, as her world is turned upside down.
She is inspired by another woman, who went with her husband to the Sudan as medical volunteers for a charity organisation.

A tale of raw emotion, desperation and acceptance.

"Why Can't You See Them?"

Officer Brigitte McCray led the small, pale woman into the interrogation room. She pulled out a chair for her at the table, then sat down on the other side. She used a pen to write the woman’s name, Allison Derby, and her address on a notepad. Then, with a blank look on her face, she said, “Tell me again why you’re here.”

“I killed three people and I’m afraid I’ll kill again. You need to arrest me right now,” Allison said.

"The Tree of Death"

Pedro Oliveira circled a spot on the map that lay unfolded on the table before him. A thin film of sweat shined upon his forehead. Dust motes floated in the light that beamed through the hut's wooden shutters.

He tapped his pen in the circle as he looked at Isabella Silva and said, "Here's the place, Professor Silva. The last known location of the Apuelito tribe. It's a month's journey from here through the jungle on foot, but you shouldn't go there. No one should. It's too dangerous."

Isabella said, "Thank you, Mr. Oliveira. I appreciate your concern, but I've been searching for this lost rainforest tribe for many years. I'm too close now to give up. Besides, I've been on a half-dozen expeditions through the jungle, the last two of them by myself. I think I'll be fine."

The dead farmer whom Jim thought he had left behind in Vietnam has revenge on his mind, and Jim's wife and son are his targets. Unless the threat the farmer imposes -- and possibly the man himself -- is only a figment of Jim's PTSD-driven hallucinations.

While Jim races to protect his family, he battles the mental demons that the farmer's re-appearance rekindles. Will he be able to save his family before his memories destroy his mind?

Hello!

My name is M.O. LeClair. Nice to "meet" you all!

My first book 'Concrete Jungle' is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The release date is September 4th, 2021. It's a suspense/thriller/mystery book.

You can visit the library at my official website if you'd like to read some at: www.rwavp.com.

Here's the Amazon pre-order link: www.amazon.ca/dp/B08KGQSFWS and the book trailer link is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fVKZmiCGcE

Here's the book jacket description:

When Nylah Diamond, a young psychiatry student, becomes aware of a new case study, she becomes obsessed with it; something about it intrigues her.

She wants to know about every detail, every statement, every piece of evidence and everyone involved.

...someone else wants it left in the past...

She becomes determined to help piece together everything that has seemingly been hidden and scattered everywhere for so long...

...things that were meant to stay scattered and hidden. Something doesn't make sense.

Some things from childhood, they stick with you, forever. Small things, big things, what seem like such insignificant things; change things. Change people.

...and if "Dr" Diamond doesn't let sleeping dogs lie, she may be the next to get bitten.

All of the things you think don't matter, matter most. What you think matters most, may mean nothing at all. People are animals. Savages. It's a concrete jungle out there, and even something as small as a snake in the grass, or a spider in a tree, can take down a lion; the king of the jungle.

I can't wait to chat with everyone. Have a wonderful day!

Hello !

My name is Daniel Agranovsky, I am 15 years old and I live in Warwickshire, UK.

Always loved reading books of all genres, and always enjoyed engaging in a bit of creative writing myself.

I have now written my first book, a crime novel about a murder that takes place at a psychology conference in Detroit.

Hi,

My name is Michael J. Polelle. A new author on Librarything, I published The Mithras Conspiracy by M.J. Polelle (Lido Press:2019). a history-based mystery available on Amazon. The website for the novel is: www,mjpolelle.com. It was a finalist in the 2020 mystery category of the Royal Palm Literary Awards sponsoed by the Florida Writers Association and a commercial-fiction finalist in the Eric Hoffer Book Awards.

When Commissario Marco Leone finds the corpose of a Vatican scholar floating in the Tiber, he must battle a tragic family history and a neo-fascist conspiracy. Iinspired by the ancient cult of Mithras, the plotters threaten to upend the Itaian government and unsettle the early history of Christianity with the discovery of new papyrus scrolls in the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum

During my research on site in Rome, Italy and in documents I learned that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote a research paper while in theology school. The research paper discussed the strking similiarities between the cult of Mithras and Christianity. His curiosity also became mine as I undertook writing the novel.

Robert Harris, the UK author of history-based novels set in ancient Rome, has called for the reopening of the Villa of the Papyri for for further exploration. The father-in-law of Julius Caesar apparently owned the villa which became a renowned library of the ancient world. Some 2,000 charred scrolls have been recovered before it was closed due to lack of funding. What will be discovered when and if it is reopened?

Wolf girl gone feral...

A DNA experiment gone horribly wrong...

A beast who will stop at nothing.

Seth Anson, a lovelorn forest ranger, never thought that he would shoot the first eligible woman he met after his divorce. Nor did he think that he would fall in love with her after nursing her back to health. But he certainly isn’t prepared to find out that she is the result of a DNA cloning experiment gone horribly wrong and, is in fact, a hybrid human/wolf.

It all comes to a head atop Devils Tower Wyoming.

The Beast of Wheeler Ridge examines the lurid morality issues that are dealt with in The Island of Doctor Moreau, while exploring the theme of forbidden love as can be found in Beauty and the Beast, only with the gender rolls reversed.

Contains mild language and suggestive themes.

Dear Readers and Reviewers,

To name just a few of the places it can be found. I'm hoping that many of LT's reviewers will want to read it and provide a review. It is Fiction in the mystery thriller with a little spice genre taking place a few years post 9/11 involving terrorism, drug cartels, smuggling operations, full of intriguing characters that you can relate to and feel that you know them and end up rooting for them! As of this time I'm not in possession of any e-format other than my last e-proof I sent the publisher, still waiting for them to get me an EPub or other format that I can share with reviewers. Hopefully this will not deter anyone from wanting to get the book!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to bring Two If By Sea to you.

The Deeper Dark, A Psychological Thriller - Michael Allen

Does it have ninjas? Uh, no.
Does it have strippers? Afraid not.
Witches, vampires, superheroes? None of those things.
Then, what is deep and dark about it? It has hackers and government corruption. It has a human trafficking syndicate with thugs who take orders from very high people. Is that dark enough?
You have my attention...

When a hero comes home from the war, he finds his world went on without him and now he has a new war to fight as a corrupt network of evil threatens the only person he has left in his life.

Currently, Amazon has taken it upon itself to lower the cost of the paperback quite significantly. Of course, it's also on Kindle. https://www.amazon.com/Deeper-Dark-Michael-Allen/dp/B08P64B2PJ/

Hi there,

My forthcoming thriller (and fifth work), FAR OUT, is an action-packed and humorous story and it's scheduled to be released by Running Wild Press on 8 January 2024.

Here is the synopsis: Hollywood movie star Goldie Saint Helen comes out of a coma after a car accident with an altered identity. She now believes she is a hippie detective living in the Sixties, hired to find a missing teenage girl who is about to end up a guinea pig in a CIA drug experiment. Goldie also thinks screenwriter Blake Deco, her husband, is an intern at her detective agency. For the time being, Blake plays along as advised by the hospital until she recovers her memory. However, sinister plotters think it is better that Goldie does not wake up from her fantasy— and they have their reasons. The couple finds themselves embroiled in a dangerous situation. Blake must use his past military skills as he raced against the clock to save his wife before she loses her mind forever.

You can learn more about the book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, etc as Pre-Orders are available for both paperback and Kindle.
