I need help with my book!

I'm trying to write a book but i'm having trouble with names and what happens after the first 500 words. It's about a depressed teenage girl named Libby. She acts happy around everyone else because she doesn't want to hurt them. She cuts a lot, leaving scars that no one notice. She has a younger sister named Ellie (10 years old) Her best friend, Luna, is just kind of that person who is always there but not that important. Then a new kid named _____ joins her class in the middle of the year. He is the only one she can talk to and in the end he sets her free, yay, the end. Any ideas on the boy's name or the book's name or anything in general?

My advise to you is to not get creative with your characters' names. Keep them easy for the reader to remember. As far as what happens after the first 500 words? The answer is more words. Just keep writing. You can always go back and edit. The more you write, the easier it gets.

Sound like you have a character and a situation but not a story yet...so to start the story off what crisis can you plunge Libby into and what's she going to do to get through it? Re character names I usually start with sounds/syllables that reflect the core nature of the character and then look for a real life name that is closest!

Try and make names different from each other you do not want, say, a Sue and Susan or a Mark and a Mike.

Sounds like a Jonathan to me!

Is the new child definitely going to be male?
Also, I agree with Richard, you've got a basic character concept and a lack of plotline. Outside of setting the character free, what do you want to happen in this story?

You could try searching for the definitions of names. ie. maybe something like "name, definition, meaning, liberator, male, christian name"... see what comes up. Just tried it and the search engine brings up a list of suggested names....
