Carl Llewellyn Weschcke, head of Llewellyn Worldwide publishing, passed away November 7 at age 85. He purchased Llewellyn in 1961 and under his ownership it became the largest publisher of occult and metaphysical books in the world. He is sometimes called the Father of the New Age because of the influence of Llewellyn books.

P F Sloan, songwriter, known for Eve of Destruction, the most famous Sixties protest song NOT written by Bob Dylan, died of pancreatic cancer on November 15th, aged 70.

Cynthia Payne (1), notorious as the keeper of a disorderly house in Streatham, London, frequented by the great and good in the 1970s, died on November 15th, aged 82.

Irish jockey Pat Eddery died November 10 at the age of 63. He wrote To Be A Champion.

Historian Hans Mommsen died on November 5 at the age of 85. His books include The Rise and Fall of Weimar Democracy and Alternatives to Hitler.

An old friend, Gerald F. Zepeda, author of The Elizabethan Language Book, passed away yesterday (November 18). He had heart trouble, and I expect that it was his heart. I'll miss him; he was a good human being.

Actor Keith Michell, best known for his role as Henry VIII in the early 70s TV series The Six Wives of Henry VIII, died on November 20 at the age of 88. In addition to his acting skills, he was a cookbook author and wrote The Practically Macrobiotic Cookbook.
