Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Thursday stood by his belief that Egypt’s great pyramids were built by the biblical figure Joseph to store grain — not as tombs for pharaohs. To further explain to the Comic book community the role of these pyramids, I suggest Edgar P. Jacobs , Le mystere de la grande pyramide . Of course this is a Belgo-Euro Comics, any Pyramid Comic?

I can't help it, but everytime I see the Sphinx (the monument), my mind shifts to Fantastic Four #212 in which John Byrne draws the origin of The Sphinx (the Marvel character). Byrne channels Cecil B. Demille's The Ten Commandments (1956 film) and even uses Charlton Heston's face to depict Moses.
The part that is forever engraved in my mind is when The Sphinx do a gesture and summons the old glory of Egypt. Man, what a striking image.
Check Fantastic Four: In Search of Galactus.

Cartoon History of the Universe gives a reasonably accurate account. The FF also dealt with ancient Egypt in the Kirby days, against the Pharaoh Rama-Tut. (So, Kang came back in time to build the pyramids, to give his future/past self Dr. Doom a reason to investigate Egyptian mysticism. Simple.)

>apokoliptian for the Sphinx nose explanation you can consult Asterix and Cleopatra. Pyramids are built there as well.

I would recommend to Mr. Carson The Nikopol Trilogy. While it is far from accurate, it would be very funny seeing him discuss the space gods on TV.
