Historian Keith Jeffery died February 12 at the age of 64. His many books include 1916: A Global History, Ireland and the Great War and The Secret History of MI6.

Gilles Lundgren (1929-2016), not a writer but designer of furniture for IKEA died at the end of February.

Lundgren joined IKEA in 1953 as the company's fourth employee and was responsible for many of its successful products including the Billy bookcases. His work must have had more impact than that of many authors for loads of LTers.

My three groaning Billys at home can attest to that!

Crime novelist Stuart Pawson died on 25 February aged 76. He wrote 13 novels set in a small Yorkshire town and featuring the police detective DI Charlie Priest, starting with The Picasso Scam and contributed to several anthologies.
