Could someone check this publisher series please?

So I'm looking through my books and stumbled across this publisher series. I SUSPECT someone thought this was where to put publication information, as much of what I see is books published by ROC but not a specific book series by the publisher.

But I wanted someone else to poke that issue before I start removing it.

18 of the 19 books in that series were added by DisassemblyofReason, a longtime member; have you tried reaching out to them directly?

It was one of the lines (not series exactly but close enough) from ROC (the same way DAW still puts Fantasy or SF on the spine). And they did have numbering. So it may be indeed considered a real series.

I agree with >2 lorax: though - just ping DisassemblyofReason. But I do not think that it is private information.

I am always dubious about those so called 'publisher series' which are in reality 'publishing lines'. I think the numbering may be somewhat of a red-herring - surely stuff like "LE 5018" is a product code. Many publishers had their own product code system in years gone by and every book they published got a code.

Yuck. That is horrible. Plenty of others in the related publisher series that are similarly bogus IMO. There are also the very non-informatively named publisher series "LR, 1986" etc. (usually LR and a year) and "BUR, 1277-1279" and "Oscar : 363"

Also is http://www.librarything.com/series/Non-Maigret really a proper series? It seems to be all the books that Georges Simenon wrote that don't feature Maigret. Although interestingly Maigret is a related series so there must be one book which is in the Non-Maigret and Maigret series.

Good grief! http://www.librarything.com/work/2328 is the first book there, and it has two 'publisher's series'. The other one is http://www.librarything.com/publisherseries/Vintage+Books.

Whether or not publisher lines is a legitimate use, publisher is certainly not.
