The ruins were discovered in April, 2017, during a construction project. Vienne is a town on the Rhone River in South-eastern France, near Lyon. See:

I read about it on ancient origins. Very interesting. Especially that it looks like it wasn't abandoned suddenly, but over time and preserving a lot of the houses etc.

They are going to build there. The archaeologists have been given a few years to save these things which otherwise would be destroyed.
