Hey everyone! I'm just looking for any good book recommendations on the topic of the Merovingians. I am about to read The Franks by Edward James and probably will be reading The Long-Haired Kings by Wallace Hadrill afterwards. I am also using From Roman to Merovingian Gaul for primary source material. Besides The Merovingian Kingdoms by Ian Wood, does anyone know of some good books on this time period? Thanks in advance!

For overviews Before France and Germany by Geary was something I thought useful as a companion to Wood. Both books are well-researched and written and reach different conclusions on a lot of things. Other than that, your list is a nice starting point.

Thanks, I'll definitely check Before France and Germany out as well. I am also definitely using Gregory of Tours as well for primary source material. I appreciate it!
